Can you believe it’s already April ? We are quickly approaching the end of the school year and even gearing up for summer activities - wow! 

Chrissy the #LocalDentonRealtor is here to tell you about upcoming events and even a few local happenings. Attending local events helps you stay connected and is a way of giving back to your community. So here at Chrissy Mallouf Real Estate Group we are all about local events!

Being an involved member of your community is extremely beneficial to your mental well-being. In addition to a sense of belonging, it can provide extra meaning to your everyday life.

Going to community events is a great way to make new connections and network. If you’re trying to advertise or build a business, going to community events can also help with that.  

So many events in Denton are very family-friendly, not to mention tons of fun! If you and your family have felt a little cooped up these past few winter months, local events are a great way to get you and the kids outside and enjoy the Texas spring weather.

Moms at the Park 

Hosted by yours truly we are so excited to extend an invite to our community in celebration of moms throughout Denton County. Bring the whole family and come out to honor moms with The Chrissy Mallouf Real Estate Group! 

  • May 7th | 11:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. — Enjoy light refreshments, a photo opp and fun gift to pamper mom! Check out the details here

Hats & Horses 

We are so excited to sponsor this upcoming event benefiting Cumberland Presbyterian Children's Home! Grab your best Kentucky Derby hat. Put on your seersucker suit. It's time to enjoy dinner, drinks, a live and silent auction and more all to benefit youth in foster care, young adults aging out of foster care and single parent families in need.

Denton Community Marketing - It’s Back!

Every Saturday (thought November) | 9 a.m. - noon —  The beloved community market is back and ready for you to head out and support local. You can find so many local goodies from vendors right here in our area including: soap, honey, kids apparel, farm goods and more!

Denton Record Chronicle Calendar

Did you know you can check out community events and happenings by heading over to the  DRC calendar here?  It’s really easy to just pick a date and see what’s going on. Here are a couple of happenings they have coming up: :

  • Saturday April 24th | 9 a.m.-noon — Celebrate Trails Day on the A-train Rail Trail, including water, snacks and rail trail pocket guides at the Downtown Denton Transit Center, a photo scavenger hunt with prizes, and free rides on the A-train all day. You can learn more by checking out dcta.net

  • May 8 | 7 p.m. — United Way of Denton County's United Tribute Gala, featuring "Dancing With Our Stars," both in person at Embassy Suites by Hilton Denton Convention Center ($175 each, limited capacity, masks required) and livestreamed for online viewing with a virtual voucher ($30).   • May 15 | 10 a.m.-1 p.m.  — Explorium Denton Children's Museum Above & Beyond Fest at North Lakes Park and RC Airfield. The museum's summer fundraiser kickoff event includes demonstrations by the Dallas Area Kitefliers Organization and North Texas Aeromodelers, access to three activity stations for a $10 donation, food trucks, photo opportunities and more. Discover Denton Event Calendar 

Another great spot to stay up to date on local happenings is the Discover Denton Event Calendar. You can even sort by categories like free events, concerts and live music or family events. Here’s a few things coming up:  

  • Saturdays (though May) | 9:45 a.m. —  Family Music Class at Explorium Children’s Museum. $10/class. Learn more here.

  • May 14th | 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m — Music & Arts Fest presented by Denton County MHMR at Red’s Yard. Check out the details here.

  • Weekly | 12: 00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m — Delight: Selections from the Texas Fashion Collection at UNT. Check out the gallery details here

Denton Chamber Event Calendar 

If you want to know about some of the professional events coming up then the Chamber calendar is where to go. Majority of the events are open to both members and non-members. They also highlight some of the community events each month. Here’s a few highlights: 

  • April 27th | 8:30 a.m - 9:30 a.m — Meet the new City Manager Sara Hensley. Free to attend but you need to register first. Register and learn more here

  • April 30th | 9:00 a.m — Touch a Truck presented by Explorium.Touch-A-Truck is a community wide event which involves public and private entities offering a unique opportunity to people all over Denton County, allowing children of all ages to explore vehicles of all types: public service, emergency, utility, construction, landscaping, transportation and delivery trucks and just plain cool – all in one place!   • May 5th | 11:30 a.m — May 1st - May 6th is National Small Business Week! You can celebrate our local small business award winners at the Chamber Awards Luncheon. Register and learn more here

Get to Know Chrissy the #DentonRealtor

Chrissy Mallouf has lived in Denton community for over 32 years has become an integral part of Denton’s fabric. Chrissy obtained her real estate license in 2008 after spending over 16 years in the banking industry in roles ranging from consumer, commercial banking, and director of sales.

She was recognized as the #1 buyer’s agent at Keller Williams Realty Denton in 2015, 2016, and 2017, has won the Denton Record Chronicles’ Best of Denton for the past 6 years, and was awarded Best of Denton County in 2017 and 2019. Chrissy is extremely passionate about mentoring and helping other achieve things they did not think were possible.

In 2001, she was voted on of Denton’s most influential people. Chrissy graduated from Texas Association of Realtors Leadership Program and serves on the 2020 Greater Denton/Wise County Association of Realtors Board of Directors. 

She is married to John Mallouf and has two beautiful children, Madison and Holden. Chrissy loves to spend time traveling with her family and making memories, supporting her kiddos in their various activities, volunteering, and cheering on her favorite football teams.

When she’s not being super mom or a top producing realtor, you will find Chrissy giving back to the community by serving on several non-profit boards. She serves on the Denton Parks Foundation Board, is involved in Denton ISD, is a member of Denton Benefit League supports major community events like Denton Holiday Lighting, Kiwanis Fireworks Show and Arts & Jazz.

She is a member of the Denton Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Keller Williams Agent Leadership Council.
